History

The Lapersonne family’s ties to the wool trade:

Joseph Lapersonne
Arrived from France in 1923 to establish Provost Lefebvre, a wool buying firm based in East London.

Jo Lapersonne
Worked in the wool industry for many years as a buyer for ADF.

Jack Lapersonne
Worked as a wool buyer for Lohmann & Co which became Standard Wool until retirement in 1997.
In 1999 Jack started a brokering company called SBL (Saunders, Bruce & Lapersonne) with two other colleagues, Jimmy Bruce and Billy Saunders. Together they came up with and started the capped commission structure that Lapersonne Wool still uses to this day. He worked up until 2010 and retired at the age of 80 years old.
